“"Well," said Pooh, "what I like best -- "
...and then he had to stop and think. Because although eating honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were, but he didn't know what it was called.”
-Winnie the Pooh
There's a child like gratitude that comes from having the presence of mind to stop and find the wonder in something simple. That's what I hope for you today dear readers, that you manage to find a moment of pure joy and excitement in something small. My first cup of English Breakfast tea with milk. Today I savored that pre sip moment just a little longer than usual.
Thanks for the reminder Pooh :)x have a chirpy day my loves x

This is such a beautiful, heart-warming post.
ReplyDeleteHere in London, I saw my first daffodils of the spring today and it was such a lovely sight.
My fiance thinks I'm crazy because I notice, and take genuine pleasure from, these things - I'm the kind of 'Snow White' girl who says hello to birds as they pass by! ;0) - but I think it's important to value the small joys of life...
Honey, tea and daffodils in-between!

Oh, my daughter reminds me every day... She is absolutely IN LOVE with rocks. Every time we're outside she hunts them down like they're little hidden treasure toys. And every night before she goes to sleep, when we look outside and say "goodnight moon, goodnight trees..." there's almost always a goodnight "wocks" - simple, small joys indeed.

Pooh certainly does bring us all back to the important things in life, doesn't he? :) Thanks for posting this very simple and honest of thoughts - it is the little things that make everyday special, and it can be hard to remember to savor them. Thanks for the reminder!
