wooden it be lovely?

It doesn't happen very often, but every now and then I'll do something/make something and feel like an absolute fricking rockstar.  The type of rockstar where you dance around your kitchen for a minute, maybe even get crazy and throw a couple of fist pumps around {I mean I wouldn't do that but I've heard of friends that do that when they get excited}.  A couple of months ago I made my own shelving and it went so well that I even had my neighbors {no, not THAT one} ask me if I'd make some shelving for them. Rockstar moment for sure.
I travelled out to a lumber yard hoping to stumble across some attractive axe yielding lumberjacks, but got so distracted by all the amazing reclaimed wood that inspiration ensued.  After some custom tweaking here and there, a couple of days later I had myself some custom shelves made from 120 year old wood from a barn somewhere in Oregon.
I decided to keep it as raw as possible, allowing all of the original paint work and age be the main focus.
The ends of each shelf are unique and left exposed. It's the perfect platform to display all of my vintage bottles and glassware that I've been collecting.

Don't you just love it when something works out? Hope your day is working out the way I think these shelves did :)
