parisian perfection

I spotted this the other day and my heart immediately skipped a beat. I've had a real longing lately to leave my LA digs behind and spend some time traveling through Europe.  Totally "eat pray love" style, except the prayers being to Bacchus {God of wine} and the love being about the enormous amounts of European food I'd be happily surrendering to.

I want to marvel at something, have my breath be taken away by something that is bigger than me and my current heartache.
This Parisian loft would encompasses all charm and bewilderment that I'm seeking.

...winding stairwells.

...view of the city, books and art.

...warm places to curl up after long days of being inspired and culturally fed.

I can smell the sweet pastries rising in the oven and the seductive music calling my name.

Folks, I think it's a serious case of Francophilia!

Who's in?

  1. Count me in. Life could do with a shake up.

I think if you can do, if you really can organise your life to make it happen, you should definitely take off. Time spent travelling is never wasted.

  9. You should do this. Paris is amazing, I'm dying to go back there. Actually, I might just put it on my 2011 to-do list. Everything about Paris fascinates me! One of the most amazing places in Europe for sure. Others are Barcelona, Rome and Prague!!!

  10. take me with! haha after studying abroad in Italy for 6 months I always swore I'd move to Europe for a year or two. Then I went to grad school and now I'm worried it's too late! I just want to live a nice, European life for a couple years, is that too much to ask?! :)

  11. Put my name down for sure. Wander is the word that comes to mind for me. I'd like to just wander around and see where the sights, sounds and smells take me - no plans just being. Ahhhhh, divine.

  12. I hate the state of heartache that you're currently in! I say go, treat yourself, as a poster above said, travel is never a mistake. Enjoy yourself, pamper yourself, take the trip!

  13. I'll meet you at the airport! Sometimes, a vacation away is the best way to refill those empty tanks and come back refreshed and ready to rock!

  15. Scoot over - I'm down. I've been dreaming of wandering Europe for over a year...a bad case of 'run away from it all and don't look back for a few months or a year'. Wish!

In fact I would like to live in Europe/Switzerland/Paris for at least 3 months some day (oh and this living, does not mean living out of hotels)!

  26. Care to swap places?!
I could do with some LA sunshine right now. We're having the coldest winter ever. with lots of snow.

p.s. thanks for your sweet comment on my blog the other day...much appreciated.

    take care,

  27. Come to Paris, it's as beautiful as you think it is. Maybe even more. I'll show you around and we can eat food fit for royalty - yes, the French really are amazing chefs. You can travel through France experiencing different delicacies from different regions as part of a group tour, if you want or wander aimlessly alone.

If you have to save for 2 years, wait 3 years for your little ones to enjoy it, wait 6 months until your work contract expires or find someone to sublet your apartment etc - whatever you have to do, be sure to fulfil your dreams. Life is too short for "I wish I had...".

    xx
