There's nothing better than having a rich hot chocolate at the end of the end of the day... Wait, I lied, there IS something better than a rich hot chocolate at the end of the day. Home made sweet mint marshmallows melting on top of a rich hot chocolate, at the end of the day :)
recipe here {sans toasted coconut but add 1/2 teaspoon of peppermint extract}
Sprinkle the bottom of the baking dish with crushed peppermint candies and powdered sugar, add marshmallows and top with another coat of crushed candies and sugar. Let it dry out overnight, cut into squares and redust with powdered sugar.
Make your hot chocolate and add 2, 3, 4 {or more} of your minty masterpieces and watch them slowly melt and create a chocolate minty heaven! The photos really don't do it justice but I'll go so far as to say that this might just change your life. Here's to cool nights and warm sweet tummies!

I am wowed by your ability to make marshmallows. They look so good! I've been wanting to try for ages now, but I'm terrified of the mess. Are they as messy as they seem?
ReplyDeleteHi sweet girl!
ReplyDeleteIt's really not that hard, the key is to have a great stand mixer and to work quickly with damp hands! After they've dried out over night {or for a minimum of 6 hours} powdered sugar will be your best friend!
Hope that helps!

Ok. Hold the phone. You make your own Marshmallows? Hi, I am Bridgette (aka Mighty Burns) and I am available to be your taste tester any day!
ReplyDeleteI know I'm not going to try and make marshmallows but I want them, I really do. I think the only reason I like to drink hot chocolate is the mountain of marshmallows I put on top, when I run out, I reheat what's left of the drink so I can put some more on!
ReplyDeleteGoing to go make hot chocolate right now! I'm sad that I'm too lazy to make marshmallows at the moment...but I will someday! You can make them when you visit!
ReplyDeleteOh man Tash...can you be my mom? haha Minty heavy for sure! You think of everything.

oh yum- I should really try making these- my monkeys have hot cocoa every morning and night these days- night time means mini marshmallows. The only issue is that my monkeys are terribly awful at making things that require any length of waiting- overnight is like torture. Maybe I can make them and surprise them!
ReplyDeleteI'm swooning. This sounds absolutely delicious, as usual!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, Tash, this looks absolutely indulgent- and I love indulgent! It is freeezing cold here today, I think that's the perfect excuse to make this yummy treat. xo
ReplyDeleteThese look absolutely incredible! I love marshmallows and I adore mint. I've been living off of homemade hot chocolate I swear. These will be a lovely addition, thank you!
ReplyDeleteYummy and Delicious, ahhhhhhhh....
